Code of Conduct
VisMC Code of Conduct
VisMC is the Minecraft server of the VIS, open to ETH students and VIS members. By linking your account you agree to these rules. They apply on every server of the network, in chat, in private messages and in everything you build.
Respect
- Treat everyone with respect. No harassment, bullying, threats or personal attacks.
- No discrimination or hate: nothing targeting anyone's origin, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar.
- No sexual, violent or otherwise offensive content in chat, names, signs, books, skins or builds.
- Don't share anyone's personal information (doxxing), not even "as a joke".
- Don't pretend to be someone else, including staff.
Fair play
- No cheats: no hacked clients, x-ray, auto-clickers, kill aura, flight or similar. Performance and cosmetic mods (e.g. Sodium, minimaps without entity radar) are fine.
- Don't exploit bugs or duplication glitches. Report them instead.
- No griefing: don't destroy, steal from or change what others built without their permission. On Skyblock, other people's islands are off limits unless the owner lets you in.
- No lag machines or anything built to slow the server down.
- In minigames: no teaming in solo modes, no boosting, no leaving on purpose to ruin a round.
Chat
- No spam, flooding, excessive caps or advertising.
- Keep it friendly; heated arguments go to private messages or end there.
- English and German are both fine.
Your account
- One Minecraft account per ETH identity. Don't share your account and don't let others play on your link.
- Banning applies to your ETH identity, not just to your Minecraft account.
Moderation and logging
- Board members and appointed moderators enforce these rules. Follow their instructions; if you disagree, talk to them calmly or contact the VIS board afterwards.
- Possible consequences: warning, mute, kick, temporary or permanent ban, depending on how serious and how repeated the behaviour is. Serious cases can be passed on to the VIS board or ETH.
- Chat, private messages and commands are logged and kept for 180 days, so reports can be checked against facts. Only moderators can read the log, and only to handle reports.
- See something that breaks the rules? Use /report <player> <reason>. Don't take matters into your own hands.
ETH's and VSETH's own rules of conduct apply here too.
